“A joyous celebration, not only of roots and culture, but of life itself”.
“It still stands up as an upbeat portrait of pre-revolutionary Russia and will have you whistling If I Were a Rich Man for days”.
“It’s hard not to feel spine tingles with numbers such as Sunrise Sunset, Miracle of Miracles or Do You Love Me?”
Fiddler on the Roof is a musical set in Imperial Russia in 1905. The story centers on Tevye, the father of 5 daughters, and his attempt to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family’s lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three daughters, who wish to marry for love – each one’s choice of husband moves further away from the customs of his faith – and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village.
The original Broadway production of the show, which opened on 1964, had the first musical theater run in history to surpass 3,000 performances.
This is a wonderful show for the entire family with cultural enlightenment and beautiful music.
"Fiddler On the Roof" is produced by BK Productions, a company that has entertained Playhouse audiences with many Broadway Musical favorites: “42nd Street”, “Annie”, “White Christmas”, “Gypsy”, and “A Chorus Line”, to mention a few.
